thinking ahead

i think this summer pepe will be ready to see a movie in the theatre. he will be ready to ride a bike, and if we area lucky he will transition smoothly into a big boy bed. he might even get a hang of using the potty. he will turn 3 in a few months.



his impulsivity reminds me of my dad. his messiness reminds me of my years on lakeview ave. his antagonisms is chris. i see the light of my eyes in him when he is excited. i see my ambition in his stubbornness. i see chris's simpleness in his interest in things that are not obvious to the eye. sometimes he reminds me of my grandfather mo. other times i think he looks like margaret, other times he seems a blond version of me as a child. i see my dad's "i am up to something" smile.

there are generations that intertwine, several kinds of blood from several parts of the world, all intertwine into this little ball of fire that is pepe.
